2025 Municipal election

Voter guide

STUN’s  Housing Platform targets the most pressing issues tenants in our city face. With a Healthy Homes Guarantee to keep our housing safe and landlords accountable for the maintenance of their properties; a Right to Counsel to give tenants a fair chance in eviction court; and an affordable housing trust fund that provides the stability working class families need, we can access the safe, accessible, truly affordable housing each of us deserves.

On Feb. 15, 2025, STUN along with PROMO and Missouri Jobs with Justice held the People’s Candidate Forum at the Schweitzer-Brentwood Library where all candidates in this year’s municipal election were invited to answer questions regarding each organizations’ core issues.

Springfield tenants, who do you think your leaders should be?

Question 1: Would you support passing a city-wide Healthy Homes Guarantee in 2025 to require licensing and regular and live safety inspections for rental properties?

Question 2: Would you support passing a Right to Counsel program in 2025 to ensure tenants have legal representation?

Question 3: Will you prioritize long-term and permanently affordable housing by supporting the establishment of a Springfield Affordable Housing Trust Fund in 2025?
